Half of every energy job is plumbing
A heat pump hot water system is a plumbing job with an electrical component. Getting a house off gas means decommissioning the gas appliance and running new electrical — two trades, one job. Whole home filtration is entirely plumbing. Not every company selling energy products holds either licence, so the install gets subcontracted out.
That's where jobs go wrong — the second trade turns up a week later, finds something the first crew didn't account for, and the price moves. Or nobody takes responsibility for the bit in the middle.
We hold BPC 50819 and REC 36222 and employ both trades. One company quotes it, one company installs it, one company warrants it.

What plumbing work do you actually do these days?
Trigger Group started as a plumbing business in 2012. The core of the plumbing side today is heat pumps, air conditioning and whole home water filtration — installs, changeovers, and getting households off gas and onto electric. Because we hold both licences, the gas decommissioning and the new electrical are done by us on the same visit rather than split between two companies. We take on far less of the general maintenance work than we used to.
Are you licensed?
Yes — BPC registered, plumbing licence 50819. All compliance documentation, including BPC certificates, is issued on completion.
Do you do gas work?
Yes, including gas appliance changeovers and decommissioning when a household moves to electric hot water and reverse cycle heating.
Do you work on new builds and renovations?
Yes. We work with homeowners, builders and developers on both new construction and retrofit — solar and battery systems, heat pump hot water, electric cooktops, EV chargers and switchboard work. From 1 January 2027 all new Victorian homes must be built all-electric, so we're increasingly doing the whole electric package on new builds rather than one appliance at a time.
