The switchboard is where solar quotes fall apart
Most cheap solar quotes assume your switchboard is compliant. A lot of Melbourne switchboards aren't — particularly in homes built before the mid-2000s, or where previous work has been added on piecemeal. The sales rep doesn't look, and the price moves on install day.
We check it during the assessment. If your board needs work, you'll see it on the quote before you commit, with a number attached. If it doesn't, you won't get charged for it.
Battery installations are prescribed electrical work and must be inspected by a licensed inspector before commissioning. We book it and manage it. Allow up to two weeks for the inspection to be arranged and certified — that's the system, not us.

Are you licensed electricians?
Yes — REC 36222, and we're Solar Victoria accredited. All electrical work is completed by our own licensed electricians and certified appropriately.
Do you do switchboard upgrades?
Yes, and we do a lot of them. Older switchboards frequently need upgrading before a battery, an air conditioner or a heat pump can be connected safely. We identify it during the assessment and quote it before we start, rather than discovering it on install day.
What's an ESV inspection and do I need one?
Prescribed electrical installation work — which includes battery installations — must be inspected before the system can be fully commissioned. It's often called an ESV inspection, but Energy Safe Victoria licenses the inspectors rather than carrying out the inspection itself — the work is checked by an independent Licensed Electrical Inspector. We arrange it. Allow up to two weeks for the inspection to be scheduled and certified.
Do you do general electrical work, or only energy systems?
Both. Power points, lighting, switchboards, meter box work, safety switches, EV charger circuits and fault finding, as well as the solar, battery and air conditioning work.
Need a licensed electrician?
From a power point to a full solar and battery install. Same company, same standard.
